Some wardrobes have two double wardrobes connected together as one whole wardrobe with glass sliding doors, these are more difficult to dismantle and put back up again, so please seek professional advice before dismantling any of your wardrobes or furniture.

When dismantling your wardrobe start from the very top and work your way to the bottom

Wrapping your Wardrobe

If your wardrobe is not dismantled, you will need to start wrapping it using bubble wrap, wrap the bubble wrap around the top of the wardrobe, continue until the bubble wrap has covered the whole wardrobe and then stick down using tape. Be sure there are no gaps and that the wardrobe is fully covered with shrink-wrap.

Gather some removal blankets, place two over the top and sides of the wardrobe and stick down using tape, this will hold and secure the removal blankets to the wardrobe. If the removal blankets do not cover the bottom of your wardrobe then, further removal blankets will be need.

Wrap the removal blanket, around the middle of the wardrobe, be sure that the removal blanket covers the whole wardrobe, from top to the bottom.

Now we are going to wrap the wardrobe ,using strong, good quality, shrink wrapping. This will help to secure the bubble wrap and removal blankets, pulling them tight against the wardrobe.

Start from the top of the wardrobe, using the shrink-wrap, stretch it around the top of the wardrobe, working your way around the whole wardrobe, to the bottom. Check you are satisfied that you don’t need another layer of shrink-wrap and that your wardrobe is safely packed, ready to be transported to your new home, storage or overseas.
