  • First things first removal the lid of the baby grand piano and wrap the piano lid using removal blankets. Place all screws and bolts in clear plastic bag keeping them safe.
  • Next we need to remove the piano pedals, these are the pedals you use with your feet to keep the piano in tune. Remove the pedals and protect using bubble wrap and removal blankets for extra protection.
  • Wrap piano with removal blankets or a piano protective cover
  • Have two people hold the grand piano and the third person takes the piano leg off. This is a very tricky process and extra care should be taken. Once the leg is off slowly lower the piano to the floor and then onto the piano skid board.
  • Wrap and strap the piano firmly to the piano skid board, this will help to keep the piano stable when being pushed on the piano wheels.
  • Lift the piano shoe at a 90 degrees angle, this should be enough room to push the piano wheels underneath the piano shoe.
  • You now have the piano wrapped, strapped and ready to go. Put down any ramps where ever required when moving the piano to removal truck and destination.
  • Once the piano is in the removal truck, Strap it to the wooden or metal bracket on the side of the removal vehicle. Never rely on the piano to hold its position always strap the piano down to the removal truck before moving off.
