I’m Moving Home in Nottinghamshire | How To Choose The Best Removal Company!
The time has come, you can finally start to organize your move into house new house. Finding a reliable and trusting company that you would like to invite into your home to complete the move can prove to be a real challenge. Our guide i’m moving home in Nottingham | how to choose a removal company will help to ensure you make the right choices when moving. The removal companies you decide to go with will need to prove to you that they are kind, courteous & professional throughout the moving process.
Is Your Removals Company A Registered Member Of Any Removal Associations
Although there are many removal companies that have become members with accredited organisations, specially for removal companies, this does not mean that they will be perfect for you or your move. House Removal companies have to work to a rewarding standard which is set out by the accredited organisations (B.A.R) British Association of Removers or (N.G.R.S) National Guild of Removers and Storers. These organisations accredited the removal companies listed on to its website and data bases offering peace of mind. In the real world 80-90% of the removal companies are non members of these organisations and provide a professional caring service to their clients.
Has Your Removal Company Got Removal Insurance To Cover The Value Of Your Belongings
Another very important question you may need to ask your removals company when moving home in Nottingham is Have they got the right cover of insurance. Many companies can easily up the insurance to cover the value of the items you wish to be relocated to the new home. Removal companies are only human and sometimes things can go wrong on the day. Before booking your Nottingham removal companies be sure they have the right goods in transit insurance, that covers removal companies. Some companies that are members of removal associations may charge extra for insurance when non members may include this within your price, Check with your company how they work and how the insurance is used.
Ask Your Removal Companies To Provide A home Survey To Avoid Any Misunderstandings When Moving Home
A home survey is the best possible way for you to receive your quote. Your house removals company will send an assessor who will visit you at home to assess the nature of your move. They will make an inventory of all the furniture and items to be moved to the new home, as well as taking notes of the access, layout and structure of the property. Your moving surveyor will provide you with a s much information possible regarding the moving process and what you will need to do and expect on the run up to removals day.
A home survey is the perfect time to meet your removals company face to face where you can ask questions regarding your move in more detail. Your movers should be willing to help and go above and beyond to ensure you have safe, successful and pleasant move. If your removal company refuses to complete a FREE OF CHARGE home viewing then this is a company you should avoid. Your home survey will help you to get the best quote, the best service and the best removals company, rather than getting your quote over the phone.
Try To Obtain 2-3 House Removal Quotes From Different Moving Companies in Your Area
Getting 2 or 3 quotes is fine. One thing i will say is be careful when listing your details on compare website to get your quotes, these companies have no knowledge about moving home, they pass your details around to many other removal companies causing you to be bombarded with phone calls from companies searching for people moving home. This can become more stressful than good. Try searching for removal companies in your area and get 3 quotes from them. Remember the cheapest quote you receive is not always going to be the best, so check with your removal firm exactly what the quote involves and be sure to get this in writing.
Has Your Friends, Family or Work Colleagues Moved Home In The Past | Ask for Recommendations Of Their Moving Experience
Another good way of how you can choose your removals company will be to ask friends, family or work colleagues. If they have used a removals company before they can provide in great detail of how the company they used treated them when moving home. Friends and family will only recommend removal companies that they have had good experience with, making it easier for you to make the right choice when choosing the best removal companies.
What Type Of Removals Company Do I Choose? A Reputable House Removals Company Or Man and Van
These easiest places to find a removal company in 2016 is online. You can choose from many different removal companies, some provide man and van services, while others will provide the full house removal service, including storage, packing and unpacking for 4 plus bedroom houses. You will first need to decide what type of company best suits your needs when moving to your new home.
Man and Van Companies are usually used for smaller house removals or student removals where the client only has a few items and is in no great rush to have them moved. Man and Van services are usually carried out by smaller vehicles and two movers, once the van is full the movers will off load at the new home and come back to collect more belongings. Man and Van services have become so popular over the years, many reputable house removal companies have started to offer this exact service, for clients moving locally or round the corner.
House Removal Companies will complete a full moving service, while providing the best care and professionalism when moving your furniture throughout your home. They will use regular fully trained and qualified removal men and a home packing team. When choosing a house removals company you can expect the best removal services as they see and move home just like yours every day. If you require all your furniture to be dismantled, your home packed into removal boxes and wrapped and for all items and furniture to be unpacked at the new home, removal boxes, specialist moving equipment then its best you choose a reputable house removals company that can complete the following services for you.

Moving House in Leicester ?
[/precontent]
A new home will probably be the largest investment that you will ever make and you’ll probably spend a lot of time searching for the perfect property. Once you have found your ideal new home you may already know a lot about the home, however there are many questions to ask a seller when moving house in Leicester. Below we have listed some of the most important questions that you should ask. Asking the right questions could help you to save time and money spent on your new home.
Questions to ask a seller when moving house in Leicester
[divider icon=”” style=”simple”]
[icon icon=”question” size=”small” style=”simple” shape=”inherit” text_color=”#000000″ bg_color=”#f48a00″] Why are they selling ?
There are many reasons that people are selling their home, some of the most popular reasons include new job, up or downsizing and moving closer to family or friends. Asking the seller directly may give you an insight in their urgency to sell. For example if someone is in a rush to sell their home due to a new job starting, there may be some room for negotiation on the price.
[icon icon=”question” size=”small” style=”simple” shape=”inherit” text_color=”#000000″ bg_color=”#f48a00″] How long as it been on the market ?
The main reason that homes stay on the market for a long time is because it was too highly priced to begin with. Being on the market for a long period of time not only leaves the listing stale but can also leave the seller feeling disheartened and wondering if there is something wrong with their home. If the home you hope to buy has been listed for a long time the seller may be more willing to accept lower offers.
[icon icon=”question” size=”small” style=”simple” shape=”inherit” text_color=”#000000″ bg_color=”#f48a00″] How much did they pay for the house ?
The price the seller originally paid for the house may reflect in the price they are willing to sell the home for. For example if they purchased the home at rock bottom prices and now the value has dramatically increased they may be more open to negotiation. If the sellers won’t tell you what they paid, you can find out by checking the public records. They are available at the Land registry .
[icon icon=”question” size=”small” style=”simple” shape=”inherit” text_color=”#000000″ bg_color=”#f48a00″] What is included in the sale ?
Take notice of exactly what is to be included in the sale of the house. The term fixtures may be used to describe what is included and comes with the sale of the house. Fixtures may include cabinets, windows and blinds. Some items such as sheds, lighting and outdoor play equipment can fall into a gray area so to avoid disappointment ask for a list of the fixtures in writing.
[icon icon=”question” size=”small” style=”simple” shape=”inherit” text_color=”#000000″ bg_color=”#f48a00″] How are the neighbors and the Neighborhood ?
Neighbors can play a big part in the quality of our lives and many neighborhoods are effected by a number of nuisances including speeding on the streets, traffic congestion, noise from barking dogs or nearby businesses, litter and anti social behavior. Try and get as much information as possible about your new area and neighbors. However if the sellers are moving due to one of the above problems they may not be so forthcoming with this information. Try visiting the local police station and request the crime statistics for the new area.
[icon icon=”question” size=”small” style=”simple” shape=”inherit” text_color=”#000000″ bg_color=”#f48a00″]Has the home had any major repairs or renovations ?
Although the house may not appear to have any current problems it is extremely important to ask the seller if the house has had any previous repairs or renovations. If it has then it is equally important to ask who completed the work and if necessary request a copy of the building permit. If the seller does not have a building permit you can contact the local building department who will be able to confirm if one was issued. Bad renovations, sketchy plumbing and mediocre construction can end up costing you financially and emotionally, and even in terms of your health.

Moving Home – How To Prepare Your House For Sale
Are you moving house? Has your home been on the property market for some time? Is your home lacking the presentation the buyer needs? If so, the following guide on how to sell your property will ensure you take the correct measure to ensuring your home presentation is spot on and your home is sold quickly. When selling your home you must feel confident that the property will meet the needs of the buyer. Which in return will reassure the people buying your home that it is the best choice. When you look at modern homes, being built around the UK, the colors the builders use are very neutral and appealing to the 1000s of people who view them. This helps the buyer as they can imagine the property as they would like to see it and the seller as they secure a successful sale of the property. Below you can find exactly what you need to do when selling your home or property.
How To Prepare Your Home For Sale To Potential Home Buyers
Things you can do to sell your home fast
Get Your Garden To The Highest Standards
- The first thing people notice when viewing your home is the front garden, the garden will play a major role on how the home buyer will view the rest of the property. Have your front door and garden area trimmed and cleaned up. A professional gardener will make a massive difference to the look and feel of your garden, making it stand out fantastically to the potential buyer.
Make Sure Every Brick Is In Its Rightful Place
- External walls, windows, guttering and driveways must all be up to date, with no holes in the walls or lose brick work, windows will need to be modern, with no rotten wood or condensation built up. Attending to these items and getting them fixed will help the buyer save money by not having to pay extra money to have these items sorted out, which give the buyer more reason to buy.
Keep Files, Records & Pictures Of All Building Work Done
- When having professional work carried out on your home, it is vital you keep all records, building certificates and documents that you can comfortably present to the new potential home buyer, this will reassure them that you have look after and spent a great of time and money to get your home to this perfect standard.
De-Clutter Create The Space Your Home Needs For A Sale
- If you are in great need of seeing your home fast, you will need to either get rid of the of your personal home belongings and furniture or place them into a self storage unit. This will give your home a lot of room and space, so the new buyer can picture having their items within the rooms. Space is what people buying a home are looking for. The more space and the bigger your rooms feel the more chance you have of selling the property.
Lay Out Your Home Furniture For The Best Out Come
- When laying out and organizing the furniture think of it like a hotel, try not to have to many items lying around doing nothing, for example news papers, cups of coffee or children’s toys, keep these items well out of sight. One or two cuddly toys on the bed is fine but to many could distract the buyer from what you really want them to see. Bedrooms shouldn’t have much in them a bed 2 chest of draws is just fine along with a mirror and picture on the wall. You can add extra features or colors using things like lamp shades, and side lights etc.
Fix All Cupboard Hinges & Squeaking Doors
- Fix all fixtures, fittings and doors that are squeaking or require a missing screw, hinge or a drop of oil, the last thing you want is for the buyer to open the kitchen cupboards and the door comes off or the door to rooms don’t open properly so extra force is needed when open it. When selling your home you only want positive feedback from the buyer so don’t hesitate, get those fixtures and fittings sorted.
Up Date Bathroom & Kitchen Utensils
- If your bath, toilet and sink is old and due a new one, have these replaced for a more cleaner, white and modern set, as these can be located cheaply and will give your bathroom a fresher feel. The same applies for the kitchen as these are the rooms of the house that offers the buyer a real boost when it comes to buying a new home.
Gather The Intelligence First & Put It Right
- Remember your home buyer will want to gather as much information about the home as possible before they make that big choice of signing on the dotted line. The home buyer will assign a building surveyor to check the external and internal foundations of the property before buying, which will notify the buyer of any possible dangers or hazards the property has. Its always a good idea for the seller to know these issues in advance so they can be rectified and put right before the property goes on to the housing market.
Let The New Home Buyers Feel At Home
- The living room is where the new family will spend most of their time in the home, try to make this the room where they can sit, relax and talk comfortably about the property. Make the buyers feel at home by offering them some where comfortable to sit, with cake, tea and biscuits to eat. This will help them to feel at ease and imagine how they could be living, relaxing and conversating with their family, friends and guest.
Paint Your Home Using Clean, Bright, Neutral colors
- When it comes to decorating your home you must go with light, airy and neutral colors, these colors are effective as they give the room a bigger feel, and is not seen as offensive to the buyer. These colors appeal to both young people, elderly people, men and women meaning your home could be bought by any potential buyer, as long as it ticks all the boxes. This is the only way you will truly sell your home, the quickest way possible. There are 1000s of homes currently on the housing market in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire right now for your buyers to choose from, so it’s very important that your home stands out from the rest to win that potential buyer.
